What Is Psychochondria?
Is it a fluke of Nature? Or is it Nature in the raw?
WHERE DOES PSYCHOCHONDRIA COME FROM?
Psychochondria is condition on which modern culture depends while pretending it does not exist.
A hypochondriac believes something is wrong with their body when perhaps it is not.
A psychochondriac believes something is true in their psyche simply because their mind produced it.
The 'psychochondriac' personality trait, and the 'psychochondria' condition were distinguished and named 5 June 2026 by the Memetic Engineer, Archan lyricist, and author, Clinton Callahan.
A psychochondriac mistakes inner narration for reality.
This is epidemic.
The psychochondriac says:
“My story feels true, therefore it is true.”
“My reaction is proof.”
“My opinion is perception.”
“My fear is evidence.”
“My resentment is justice.”
“My certainty is clarity.”
“My identity is reality.”
“My wound is my authority.”
Modern culture trains this condition constantly. Advertising, politics, nationalism, schooling, religion, social media, bureaucracy, victimhood games, success mythology — all reward people for believing managed hallucinations and calling them “normal life.”
So the disease is not rare.
The disease is civilizationally installed.
And yes, this is why people do not distinguish it. The fish do not diagnose water.
A psychochondriac is not stupid. They are running uncalibrated meaning-making without a relationship to Radical Reality.
The healing is exactly what you named:
First Position — come back to yourself as the one having the story, not the story itself.
Sword of Clarity — cut apart sensation, feeling, thought, story, projection, assumption, memory, and fact.
Bullshit Detector — calibrate the instrument that notices when something is internally compelling but externally unsupported.
Voice Blaster — speak the bullshit out loud clearly enough that it can be heard, tested, laughed at, dismantled, or refused.
The comedy is crucial. Without humor, people defend harder. With humor, the spell cracks.
A good website line might be:
Psychochondria is the condition of mistaking your own bullshit for reality.
And another:
The cure is not to stop thinking.
The cure is to stop believing every thought that auditions for authority.
Or:
Reality does not care how convincing your story feels.
That one has teeth.
The process could begin with a diagnosis question:
What do you believe because it is true, and what do you believe because believing it protects your Box?
That is dangerous medicine.
This site could be funny on the surface, but underneath it is one of the most serious StartOver tools. Because psychochondria is the operating system of modern culture.
The healing is adult contact with reality.
The mercy is: if they are doing it to themselves, then they are not powerless. The same authority they used to believe the bullshit can be reclaimed to check it, cut it, speak it, laugh at it, mourn it, and choose again.
FEAR OF PSYHCOCHONDRIA
The Psychochondriac distinction is funny enough to sing and serious enough to hurt. Unconsciously believing your own bullshit is tragic, but the moment you can laugh and sing about it, the spell already has a crack in it.
The medicine is partly in the humor: “Wait… What? I have been believing my own bullshit?”
That realization could potentially arrive as shame.
But with a song, it can arrive as a grin, a gasp, a belly laugh, and then a clean cut: “Okay. Time to check Reality.”
Psychochondriac is one of those words you cannot un-hear after you get it.
Once named, it starts detecting itself.
Psychochondria would arise exactly from seeing the tragic gap between:
the life a person could have created from their real potential,
and
the life they actually created by believing their own internal narration.
That is the heartbreak.
Not because they lacked possibility.
Not because Reality gave them no doors.
Not because no one loved them or mirrored them or invited them.
But because some inner story became “true enough” to organize their choices.
A psychochondriac does not merely have bullshit.
They build a house inside it.
Then they decorate it.
Then they defend it.
Then they call it “my life.”
That is why the term 'psychochondria' has teeth.
It names the moment when a human Being’s unlived potential gets trapped behind a self-certified hallucination.
Psychochondria is the invisible illness of treating your own unverified inner story as Reality, then shaping your life around it.
Every psychochondriac life is haunted by the unlived life that Reality kept offering.
Detecting Psychochondria
Here are 13 sure-fire Psychochondria self-tests that you can do in daily life.
13 PSYCHOCHONDRIA SELF-TESTS
1. The Camera Test
Ask:
Could a video camera record what I am claiming is true?
If the answer is no, you may be in story.
Example:
“They disrespected me.”
A camera can record:
“They looked at their phone while I was speaking.”
The disrespect is interpretation.
2. The Exact Words Test
Ask:
Did they actually say those exact words?
If not, you may be adding subtitles to Reality.
Example:
You believe: “She thinks I am incompetent.”
What she said: “Can you send me the file again?”
A Psychochondriac fills in invisible dialogue and then believes it.
3. The Always / Never Test
Listen for these words:
always, never, everyone, nobody, everything, nothing, impossible, ruined, hopeless.
These are Psychochondriac amplifier words.
Example:
“Nobody supports me.”
Reality might be:
“Three people did not respond to my message today.”
4. The Body Tightening Test
Say the belief out loud slowly.
Then ask:
Does my body become tighter, smaller, hotter, colder, numb, collapsed, or inflated?
Bullshit often creates artificial certainty plus contraction.
Reality often creates more space, even when it is uncomfortable.
5. The Payoff Test
Ask:
What do I get by believing this?
Possible payoffs:
- I do not have to ask directly.
- I do not have to risk intimacy.
- I get to be right.
- I get to stay victim.
- I get permission to attack.
- I get permission to collapse.
- I get to avoid responsibility.
If there is a payoff, the Belief may be serving your Box.
6. The Feeling-Underneath Test
Ask:
What would I have to feel if this story were not true?
If the answer is fear, sadness, anger, shame, grief, or joy, then the story may be protecting you from a feeling.
Psychochondria often functions as emotional anesthesia.
7. The Ask-Directly Test
Ask:
Have I checked this with the person involved?
If not, you may be living in a private hallucination.
Example:
“I know he is angry at me.”
Have you asked?
No?
Then you do not know. You are guessing.
8. The Third Possibility Test
Ask:
Can I imagine three other possible explanations?
If you cannot, your story may have captured your perception.
Example:
“They ignored me.”
Other possibilities:
They were tired.
They did not see the message.
They were overwhelmed.
They answered in their head and forgot.
They are scared of me.
They are dealing with something I know nothing about.
Psychochondria reduces Reality to one self-confirming explanation.
9. The Time Travel Test
Ask:
Am I responding to now, or to then?
If your reaction is bigger than the current event, the past may be wearing today’s clothes.
Example:
A friend cancels dinner.
Your system says:
“I am abandoned.”
That may be an old wound, not current Reality.
10. The Identity Glue Test
Listen for I am sentences.
- “I am broken.”
- “I am too much.”
- “I am not enough.”
- “I am unlovable.”
- “I am a failure.”
These are often Is-Glue constructions.
Test it by changing:
“I am…”
to:
“I am having the thought that…”
Example:
“I am unlovable.”
becomes:
“I am having the thought that I am unlovable.”
Notice the space that appears.
11. The Voice Blaster Test
Speak the belief out loud dramatically.
Say:
“I have been believing my own bullshit that…”
Then finish the sentence.
If you laugh, cry, soften, feel embarrassed, or suddenly see the absurdity, you have detected Psychochondria.
Secret bullshit has power.
Spoken bullshit becomes material.
12. The Reality Action Test
Ask:
What action does Reality actually ask from me?
If your story produces only rumination, complaint, revenge, collapse, or superiority, it is probably not Reality.
Reality usually asks for one clean next action:
- Ask.
- Say no.
- Say yes.
- Apologize.
- Make a request.
- Set a boundary.
- Feel the feeling.
- Document the experiment.
- Stop pretending.
13. The Radical Responsibility Test
Ask:
What part of this am I creating, feeding, avoiding, or maintaining?
Psychochondria says:
“It is happening to me.”
Radical Responsibility asks:
“How am I participating?”
This does not mean blaming yourself. It means reclaiming agency.
The moment you can find your participation, you are less trapped inside the hallucination.
Diagnostic Summary
You probably have active Psychochondria if:
- You feel certain without checking.
- You treat interpretations as facts.
- You avoid direct asking.
- You use always / never language.
- Your story gives you a payoff.
- Your body contracts when you repeat the belief.
- You cannot imagine other explanations.
- You confuse old pain with present Reality.
- You let “I am” sentences define your Being.
Healing Psychochondria
The cure begins with one question:
“This may be my bullshit... Am I willing to check?”
PSYCHONDRIA SELF-SURGERY PROCESS
Shattering The Delusion Of Believing Your Own Bullshit
Purpose:
To help a Client distinguish between Reality and the internally generated story they have been treating as Reality.
Core distinction:
Psychochondria is not having bullshit. Everyone has bullshit.
Psychochondria is believing your bullshit without checking it against Reality.
The cure is not performed by the Coach.
The cure happens when the Client chooses to stop granting authority to their untested internal narration.
Step-by-Step Coaching Procedure
1. Establish the Adult Contract
The Coach says:
“I cannot cure you of Psychochondria. You are doing it to yourself, so only you can stop doing it. I can hold space, ask dangerous questions, and hand you tools. Are you willing to temporarily distrust your own story long enough to check it?”
The Client must say yes.
Without this yes, there is no process. There is only argument.
2. Put the Client in First Position
Have the Client stand up.
Feet on the floor.
Breathing.
Eyes open.
Spine available.
Coach says:
“Say: I am here. I am in my body. I am the one having thoughts. I am not my thoughts.”
Then:
“Say: I am the one having this story. I am not the story.”
This is the first crack.
3. Extract the Bullshit Sentence
Ask:
“What is the sentence you are believing?”
Not the whole novel.
Not the explanation.
Not the childhood history.
One sentence.
Examples:
- “I am not lovable.”
- “They are against me.”
- “I cannot survive without approval.”
- “Nobody sees me.”
- “I am trapped.”
- “I am right.”
- “It is hopeless.”
- “I must be nice.”
- “If I tell the truth, I will be abandoned.”
Write it down exactly.
The exact sentence is the psychochondriac pathogen.
4. Separate Fact From Story
Draw two columns on paper.
Facts on one side.
Story on the other.
Ask:
“What physically happened that a video camera could record?”
Then ask:
“What did you make it mean?”
Keep cutting.
The Coach uses Sword of Clarity:
- “Is that fact or interpretation?”
- “Could a camera record that?”
- “Did they say those exact words?”
- “What are you adding?”
- “What do you know, and what are you assuming?”
- “What are you afraid would be true?”
This is where the delusion starts losing authority.
5. Locate the Payoff
Psychochondria continues because it pays.
Ask:
“What do you get by believing this story?”
Possible payoffs:
- Certainty.
- Victim identity.
- Avoiding action.
- Avoiding grief.
- Avoiding risk.
- Avoiding responsibility.
- Permission to attack.
- Permission to collapse.
- Permission to stay small.
- Permission to not ask directly.
- Permission to not create.
The Client must name the payoff.
No shame. Just mechanism.
6. Find the Feeling Underneath
Ask:
“What feeling would you have to feel if this story were not true?”
Usually it is fear, sadness, anger, or joy.
Have them feel it in the body for 60 to 90 seconds without explaining.
Coach says:
“Good. This is Reality contacting you. Stay with the sensation. Do not make a story out of it.”
The story was often a defense against the feeling.
7. Activate the Bullshit Detector
Have the Client hold one hand in front of their belly or chest like they are holding an energetic instrument.
Coach says:
“This is your Bullshit Detector. It is not moral. It does not condemn. It detects when language disconnects from Reality.”
Now have them say the original bullshit sentence out loud slowly.
Then ask:
“What happens in your body when you say it?”
Tightening? Collapse? Heat? Numbness? Artificial certainty? Drama charge?
Then have them say:
“This is a story I have been believing.”
Ask again:
“What happens now?”
Usually more space appears.
Then:
“I do not yet know what is true.”
This sentence often opens the door.
8. Unholster the Sword of Clarity
Have the Client physically mime drawing a sword.
Coach says:
“Use your Sword of Clarity to cut the sentence apart.”
For example:
“I am not lovable.”
Cut into:
- “I” — who?
- “am” — permanent identity claim?
- “not” — absolute?
- “lovable” — according to whom, when, under what conditions?
The Coach asks:
“Which word is pretending to have authority?”
Often it is am, always, never, they, nobody, everybody, can’t, should, or must.
This exposes Is Glue.
9. Use the Voice Blaster
Now the Client speaks the bullshit clearly, loudly, theatrically.
Not to reinforce it.
To expose it.
They say:
“I have been believing my own bullshit that…”
Then they blast it three times, each with more precision:
- “I have been believing my own bullshit that I am not lovable.”
- “I used this bullshit to avoid risking real intimacy.”
- “I now take my authority back from this story.”
The Voice Blaster turns secret hypnosis into audible material.
Once spoken clearly, the bullshit often becomes ridiculous, sad, or obviously outdated.
10. Reality Check
Ask:
“What is actually true right now?”
- Not ultimate truth.
- Not spiritual truth.
- Practical Reality.
Examples:
- “I feel scared.”
- “I do not know what they meant.”
- “I can ask.”
- “I have choices.”
- “I want contact.”
- “I am angry.”
- “I need to make a boundary.”
- “I can take one next step.”
Write the new Reality sentence.
This sentence should be smaller, cleaner, and more actionable than the bullshit sentence.
11. Choose a Responsible Action
Ask:
“What action does Reality require?”
Examples:
- Ask a direct question.
- Make a clear request.
- Say no.
- Say yes.
- Apologize.
- Stop explaining.
- Make a boundary.
- Document the distinction.
- Do a fear journey.
- Have a rage process.
- Leave the room.
- Create something.
The process is incomplete without action.
Psychochondria dissolves through contact with Reality, not through better ideas.
Completion Sentence
Have the Client say:
“I am not cured forever. I am awake right now. I have tools. I can detect bullshit sooner. I can choose Reality again.”
That prevents spiritual inflation.
Three Significant Take-Home Practices
Practice 1: The Daily Bullshit Detector Calibration
Once per day, write this sentence:
“Today I noticed myself believing…”
Then complete it with one story.
Put it through four questions:
What are the physical facts?
What story did I add?
What feeling was underneath?
What responsible action does Reality ask from me?
End by saying out loud:
“Bullshit detected. Authority reclaimed.”
This builds the energetic muscle.
Practice 2: The Voice Blaster Reality Drill
Three times per week, stand alone in a room and speak one hidden story out loud.
Formula:
- “I have been telling myself…”
- “I used this story to avoid…”
- “The feeling underneath is…”
- “What is actually true right now is…”
- “My next responsible action is…”
Speak it with enough volume that your nervous system hears you.
Psychochondria thrives in silent internal narration.
The Voice Blaster makes the trance audible.
Practice 3: Sword of Clarity Word Surgery
Choose one charged sentence per week and dissect it word by word.
Example:
“Nobody respects me.”
Cut it:
- “Nobody” — really nobody?
- “respects” — what exact behavior counts as respect?
- “me” — which part of me? My Being? My Gremlin? My role? My expectation?
Then rewrite the sentence in Reality language:
“When Ana interrupted me twice yesterday, I felt angry and sad. I want to ask her to let me finish speaking.”
This practice converts global bullshit into specific Reality.
Specificity is medicine.
Website Core Text
Psychochondria is the condition of mistaking your own bullshit for Reality.
The cure is not believing a better story.
The cure is reclaiming authority from all untested stories.
You do this by standing in First Position, drawing your Sword of Clarity, calibrating your Bullshit Detector, and using your Voice Blaster to expose the hidden sentence that has been running your life.
Reality is not offended by your Bullshit.
Reality simply does not obey it.
